Bicycles and electric bicycles continue to walk hot

The policy of limiting flow and reducing emissions in Paris has been officially implemented in 2022. This policy will greatly reduce the traffic flow in the inner ring of Paris, which covers an area of nearly 14 square kilometers. On the one hand, the “No Vehicle Order” aims to reduce air pollution in Paris, on the other hand, it also encourages people to use the newly built bicycle lanes for commuting.
At the same time, due to the deepening of the energy crisis, 59% of the French claimed in the sample survey that they might not be able to drive a car in the future.
During the three weeks from June 24 to July 15, 2019, the number of cyclists per week reached 17000, an increase of 42% over the same period in 2018. And the epidemic and the energy crisis have increased the number of cyclists.

The cycling statistics of 2021 compared with 2019 published by the French Bicycle and Territory Association (V é lo&Territoire):
From January to April, the number of cyclists increased by 30% in the middle of the week, 39% in the weekend and 32% in the cycling lane.

The number of cyclists in urban areas increased by 30%, which was the lowest compared with 42% in suburban areas and 38% in rural areas. Before the 2024 Summer Olympics, Paris will fully realize that all streets are suitable for cycling.

Current situation of bicycle consumption
The oil price and the country’s infrastructure provide a big environment for people to travel by bike. Leading by bicycle retail stores, online sales growth is the fastest

The market share of bicycle parts reached 827 million, with a growth rate of 5.9%. Among them, the proportion of e-commerce channels is 28%, approaching 30%, and the growth rate is still the highest, reaching 12%.
Electric bicycles are the source of growth in the industry. In 2019, the market value of bicycles in France has been increasing for seven consecutive years. Due to the downward trend of the epidemic in 2020, in the next few years, the forecast is still a growth trend, and the growth momentum is mainly from electric bicycles.
