Industry New Standard! KUICKWHEEL Participates in Formulating Aircraft Safety Technical Specifications

On July 21st, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of China (AOPA-China) officially released and implemented the group standard “Safety Technical Specifications for Intelligent Ultra-light Aircraft” (T/AOPA 0083—2025).

As one of the drafting units of this standard, KUICKWHEEL has integrated its technical accumulation in the field of amphibious manned flying motorcycles into the industry’s safety specification framework.

Rise of Low-Altitude Economy, Filling Regulatory Gaps

According to the standard, an ultralight vehicle refers to an aerial flying device that meets the requirements of the civil aviation regulation “General Operating and Flight Rules”, is operated by a single person, is used only for recreational or sports activities, and does not require any airworthiness certificate. An intelligent ultralight vehicle is an ultralight vehicle controlled with the assistance of an autopilot.

As low-altitude economy was written into the “Government Work Report” for the first time as a “new growth engine”, China’s low-altitude sector has ushered in explosive development. Behind the market prosperity, there are hidden regulatory gaps. As an emerging industry, intelligent ultralight vehicles have long lacked unified safety technical standards, and thus the “Safety Technical Specifications for Intelligent Ultralight Vehicles” came into being.

This standard systematically specifies the technical requirements and conformity verification methods for core modules such as flight performance, load strength, power/electrical systems, cockpits, flight control systems, and safety guarantees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:Speed limit?

The new regulations make it clear! The level flight speed is less than 100 km/h!

Q:Is an airworthiness certificate required?

Ultralight vehicles do not require an airworthiness certificate!

Q:Do I need a pilot’s license?

Beyond expectation! Pilots do not need a license!

Pioneer in Flying Motorcycles: Technical Strength Gains Recognition

As one of the drafting units of the standard, KUICKWHEEL has provided valuable experience for the formulation of industry standards by virtue of its technical practice in developing the world’s first amphibious manned flying motorcycle.

Looking back to April this year, the first China AOPA International Forum on Innovation and Development of Intelligent Ultralight Vehicles was successfully held in Dongguan. As a representative enterprise in the field of intelligent ultralight vehicles, KUICKWHEEL took the stage together with other industrial partners to sign important cooperation projects, demonstrating strategic layout and positive attitude in this field.

Participating in the formulation of national industry safety standards this time is a strong proof that KUICKWHEEL’s technical strength and industry influence have been recognized by authoritative institutions.

Standards Lead the Industry, Layout for Future Mobility

In the wave of the rise of the low-altitude economy, KUICKWHEEL is upgrading role in the field of intelligent ultralight vehicles from a “participant” to a “leader” and a “rule-maker”.

In the future, KUICKWHEEL will continue to uphold the concept of attaching equal importance to innovation and safety, strictly abide by and actively promote the implementation of the new standards. At the same time, it will continue to invest in research and development, committed to bringing safer, smarter and more reliable travel solutions to the market, and helping China’s intelligent ultralight aircraft industry soar in a broader sky.
